The Alexandria and Arlington Districts are excited to announce the addition of Rev. Larry Thompson to the staff. Larry will serve part-time as Director of District Operations. In this capacity, he will interface with the administrative functions of the district. In the near term, he will support the District Initiative, the work of the transition from two districts to one new district. He will also work with the district trustees to care for district property and help churches that decide to close navigate that process and those complexities.
Larry is retired clergy. He comes with experience in the Northern Virginia region having served at St Paul in Alexandria and at Crossroads in Arlington. He also has experience as a District Superintendent having served eight years as the Winchester District Superintendent.
Larry and his wife are originally from Hot Springs, Virginia, and still call Hot Springs home. In his spare time he enjoys golf, reading, traveling to the Outer Banks, and most of all – spending time with his children and grandchildren.
