Tim Ward will serve as the new Arlington District Church Development Coordinator starting on July 1. Tim is an elder in Full Connection in the Virginia Conference. Tim will continue to serve as the pastor of Restoration Church in Reston. Restoration is a site of Floris United Methodist Church. In addition to being the pastor of Restoration, Tim is responsible for leadership of Floris’ additional sites in Loudoun County and online.
Officially, Tim has been a church planter for the past 5 years. However, most of Tim’s life he’s been planting something. It took some time for him to understand language around starting a new faith community. But, once he did, he was all in. Tim has a great love for the Reston community that seeks to “live, work and play” together. He loves to meet new people and engage them in conversation about their lives and about their faith. Tim has worked extensively with the Office of Congregational Excellence to help identify planters for the conference. In addition to this Tim has worked with other churches who are thinking about planting and helped them discern the right paths for them.
In addition to this, Tim has been married to his wife Susan since 2005. They have three kids: Jackson, Nathan, and Sarah. They have bought into this idea of starting a church and have become planters themselves. Tim looks forward to working with the churches in the Arlington District to dream about exciting ways to reach people in our community.
