F/T Facilities Manager: Messiah United Methodist Church in Springfield, Virginia, is seeking an experienced individual who will serve the church as its Facilities Manager. This is a full-time position with benefits. Though some flexibility can be accommodated, the nature of the position requires presence at the church campus during core business hours each day.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing the administration and oversight of work done by contractors across the full spectrum of disciplines ranging from landscaping to elevator maintenance, roofing, electrical, plumbing and HVAC. The ability to plan and schedule work, maintain paperwork, and manage contracts to completion is a must.
The candidate should also have the ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. In this regard the candidate should be able to comfortably work on ladders and should have the requisite strength and flexibility to perform light to medium maintenance and renovation tasks.

The director provides leadership of this outreach ministry of 130 students by managing its daily operations, serving as a liaison between the church and school, selecting and supervising faculty (of approximately 20), maintaining policies and procedures, and offering vision and creativity to the program.
