P/T Church Business and Property Manager: Clarendon UMC is looking for a dynamic Church Business and Property Manager to oversee and manage our property and financial operations, 10-20 hours per week. Responsibilities include accounting and business management, management of short- and long-term church building uses with third parties, and oversight of facilities, operations, including supervision of the church custodian. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting, knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and fund accounting, experience with accounting computer software and the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point), experience in processing payroll, knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act, and at least 3 years of supervisory and/or office management experience. Physical Requirements include light lifting, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Must be available during normal business hours as well as for evening meetings. P/T Leader of Handbell Music: Messiah United Methodist Church, a community of faith with an exceptional music tradition in Springfield, Virginia is seeking a professional to serve as the part-time Leader of Handbell Music. This person will be part of a team bringing music into the life of the church while continuing to grow our community. The Handbell Music Leader will lead children, youth, and adults in age and skill appropriate choirs in expressing their faith and a love for the Lord through ringing. The handbell choirs will work independently and in concert with the greater music program. Working under the direction of the Director of Music Ministry, the incumbent will be able to work with an Organist/Accompanist, a Children’s Choir Director, several staff musicians, and additional contract musicians as warranted. An important part of this position is introducing young children to music through ringing. As time and ability permits the Handbell Music Leader will stand-up and lead instrumental groups. In addition to having proven musical competencies and talents, we are seeking a candidate of strong Christian faith, with excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to teamwork. Qualifications and skills required include: a strong background in music and education with a music education degree desirable; several years of experience ringing handbells; ability in piano, keyboard, or other musical instrument is desirable; and, skill in working with volunteers with various age, talent, and commitment levels. The ability to work with the parents of children is essential. The successful candidate will need to complete a background check and annual child protection training. The Handbell Leader leads a weekly children’s rehearsal during the Sunday School hour (10:40 – 11:10), and adult handbell rehearsals on Sunday and/or Monday evenings. Musical offerings are presented at 9 AM and 11:15 AM worship once per month, as well as for concerts and special events. P/T Director of Music Ministries: Dulin United Methodist Church, a multi-generational, multi-ethnic, mid-size church of 475 disciples church in Falls Church, seeks a Director of Music Ministries. This is a part-time lay position of 20 hours per week. This position will support congregational worship that is vibrant and transformative, drawing from a variety of musical skills incorporating combined skills on keyboard (piano, organ) and in choral directing for one in person/livestream worship service on Sunday morning.
