Why Regions?
As our district doubled in size we knew we would need to go smaller as we got bigger. We took the Clergy Resource Group areas formed before the District Initiative and have used those to establish four regions in the Northern Virginia District.
What if your next best work in local community outreach and missions was with another church, or through a new relationship with a nonprofit that works with other local UMCs?
Regions are geographic groupings that will allow churches (clergy & laity) to come together to consider how to network their church’s missions and ministries in ways that will richly bless the surrounding community and their congregation.
