Cans & Kits

It has been a longstanding tradition to collect Kits at Annual Conference for United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). UMCOR is not collecting kits in 2021, but serving our neighbors is an important part of Annual Conference. So, this year, across the conference we will be collecting “kits” that will stay local and serve our neighbors.

We have worked with community partners in the Alexandria and Arlington Districts to ask what would be beneficial to their clients and guests. Below you will find the list of “kit” items as requested by these local ministry partners.

We are using the word “Kit” because that is familiar language for our churches as related to Annual Conference connections. Churches or individuals can collect items from any of these “kit” lists and bring them to any of the distribution locations. They do NOT need to be put together as a traditional UMCOR kit would be. Items will be broken apart and distributed to ministry partners according to their requested needs. Where possible, please use paper bags!

“Kit” collection will take place on Saturday, June 19
from 2-4 p.m. at the following locations:

Monetary Donations

If you or your church would prefer to offer a donation instead of providing the requested items for the 2021 Annual Conference Kits & Cans project, you can do so using this online payment form.

Donations will be distributed to our ministry partners. You can find a list of the ministry partners below.

You can also mail a check made out to Methodist Joint Account with 2021 AC Kits & Cans in the memo line to our office.
